Last updated : 05 February 2019 By Steve Forbes

According to news reports this evening, Hibs are closing in on Neil Lennon's replacement as manager.

Former Leeds and Barnsley boss Paul Heckinbottom is said to be close to agreeing a deal to become the new Hibs boss.

Hibs hierarchy met with Heckingbottom in Manchester on Monday and is said to already be looking for an assistant, and his hopeful of appointing someone who knows Scottish football.

Heckingbottom, 41, is now expected to travel to Scotland to complete the deal and could be in charge for the weekend's Scottish Cup clash with Raith Rovers at Easter Road.

The club had received over 100 applications for the post, but it now seems they have their man.
