Trialists in at East Mains

It’s been confirmed today that the Hibees have had a number of trialists at the club over the last few days.

Former Reading forward Gunner Heider Thorvaldsson is said to have failed to win a deal at Easter Road, following a short stay in Edinburgh.

Two more players are currently on trial at Easter Road, Leeds forward Tom Elliot and Croatian keeper Jakub Divis.

6ft 6in Divis currently plays with Slovakian side Tatran Presov, but is out-of-contract at the end of the season, and Calderwood is running the rule over the player at the clubs East Mains Training Facility.

Also said to be at East Mains for a few days is 6ft 4in Leeds youngster Tom Elliot.

Elliot, 20, is a former England U18 and U19 international, but has failed to make an impact in his career so far.

Despite making over 30 appearances in his career at Elland Road, as well as loan moves to Macclesfield, Bury and Rotherham, the towering striker has only scored 1 solitary goal (whilst with Bury).

Elliot has been criticised in the past about his attitude and constant injuries, and may not be the kind of player the Hibees need at this time, however, Calderwood is said to also be running the rule over him.
