Unknown Chinese team show interest in Hibs striker Colin Nish

An unknown Chinese side has apparently approached Hibs about the availability of striker Colin Nish.

The 27-year-old former Kilmarnock striker has shot to the top of the wanted list of this club, but Hibs have rebuffed the offer.

Hibs manager Mixu Paatelainen was contacted by an agent about Nish, but he has insisted Nish is not for sale.

The Chinese transfer window is still open, meaning the unnamed club could still come back in for Nish.

Paatelainen said:

"There's nothing there, he stays with us. It is just a rumour, although there was a question asked by an agent as to whether he would be available, but that was it.

"He's not a player we want to lose, at the moment anyway. He's been taking part in the matches and done well.

"He gives us something we wouldn't have if he was to go and it is important we have as many options as possible."

Nish has made 30 appearances and scored 10 goals for the Hibees since signing from Kilmarnock in a £150,000 deal in the 2009 January transfer window.
