Wigan linked with Hibs midfielder Ewan Henderson

Last updated : 30 January 2023 By Steve Forbes

Hibs midfielder Ewan Henderson could be the next player heading for the Easter Road exit door.

According to respected journo Alan Nixon, New Wigan boss Shaun Maloney is keen to land the former Celtic kid before the transfer window closes on Tuesday night.

Maloney signed Henderson for the Hibees last January, but he has been a bit-part player since arriving from Glasgow.

He has only featured twice in Hibs last five matches, and Hibs manager Lee Johnson might see it as chance to get another name off the wage bill as he looks to build his own team.

According to the report, the Hibees would be looking for a decent fee for Henderson and Wigan may need to make an offer of a swap deal.

So far no offers have been made for the player, but that could change by Tuesday night's deadline.

Henderson has played 45 times for Hibs, scoring 6 goals.

HIBS-MAD VIEW:

We wouldn't be shocked if this move were to happen.

Ewan has failed to nail down a regular place in the first team since joining from Celtic in the summer.

He has shown in flashes how good a player he can be.

It's another waiting game.
