Brewster set to leave Easter Road

Striker Craig Brewster has admitted that he may be forced to leave Hibs due to the lack of cash in the Scottish game at the moment.

The failure of the SPL TV venture has left all clubs out of pocket, and with the veteran frontman out of contract this summer, it's unlikely he will be offered another.

Craig said: "They have told me they had nothing to offer just now and were looking at cutbacks. However, they did say they could start talks again at the start of June."

Brewster signed from Greek side Ionikos, and became their all time top scorer in just five seasons. He still has many admirers in Greek football, so a move back there is likely.

A return to Greece on the cards?
"If nothing happens then I will go back to Greece. I have plenty of offers from over there."

The departure of Brewster would be a great loss to Hibs, who is credited with helping young Garry O'Connor break into the Scotland setup this season. O'Connor himself admitted that Craig has helped his game improve, and if he stayed for another season, could continue to help the young hotshot terrorise defences.

Midfielder Matty Jack is also out of contract soon, and although the tough German would love to stay in Edinburgh, it is thought he could be another casualty of the cash problem in the SPL.  Norwich City are said to be keeping tabs on the 33 year old former Fortuna player.
