It is understood Celtic have made a second offer of £150,000 to Hibs to secure the services of striker Derek Riordan early, after there derisory offer of £50,000.

Riordan's contract runs out on in October and he has signed a pre-contract agreement with Celtic.

But because Riordan's contract runs out in October and he is still under the age of 24, Celtic would be due Hibs compensation. So Celtic secured him on a pre-contract on his 24th birthday on January 16th.

This meaning Riordan would have been left in limbo for 3 months unable to play.

It still remains to be seen if Hibs will accept the second offer.
