Nick Colgan has been picked by Mick McCarthy in his Ireland squad to face Switzerland.

Colgan has been in fine form for us as of late, recording three consecutive shut outs - against Kilmarnock, Alloa and Livingston, playing a major part in our recent resurgence.

He will be 3rd choice 'keeper behind the excellent Shay Given of Newcastle, and Dean Kiely of Charlton for the EURO 2004 qualifier against the Swiss in Dublin on the 16th of this month.

Meanwhile, recent signing Matyus Janos has not been recalled to the Hungarian national side for their matches against Sweden and San Marino. It was thought the former Energie Cottbus defender would be recalled to the squad, but coach Imre Gellei decided not to give the 6 foot 4 defender the chance to add to his 34 caps.

Also, midfielder Jarkko Wiss has been called up to the Finland squad to face Azerbaijan and Yugoslavia.
