It has been announced that coach Donald Park has parted company with Hibernian Football Club.

A statement given on the club's official website said:

The Board of Hibernian FC today confirmed that Donald Park has left the Club by mutual consent.

Managing Director Rod Petrie said: "Everyone at Hibernian is grateful to Donald for his hard work and commitment to the Club. He has fulfilled a number of important roles within the coaching staff and more recently accepted the challenge of assisting with First Team duties. Donald has acted in a professional manner at all times and, to his credit, was instrumental in ensuring the smooth transition in management earlier this year. Donald leaves with our good wishes for the future."

Donald added: " I have enjoyed my time at the Club a great deal, in particular my time working with the young players at u-21 level. I am parting on good terms and wish the Club every success in the season ahead and would like to thank Bobby Williamson, Jim Clark and Gerry McCabe for making me feel a part of the new management team, and also Rod Petrie for all of his help and support."

This comes as no real great surprise, as when Bobby took over, he brought his own men, and with every SPL cost cutting, money has to be saved somewhere.

In my mind Donald's finest moment came when he took charge of a dejected Hibs side to Ibrox just after McLeish left Easter Road. We were expected to be cannon fodder for Rangers, but took the lead against them, and came away with a 1-1 draw.

Donald, good luck in all you do sir.
