It was revealed today that ex Dundee United midfielder Grant Smith has arrived at Easter Road on trial.

Smith played in yesterday's 0-0 reserve draw with Falkirk and was out to impress Hibs boss John Collins.

The former Dundee United & Swindon Town midfielder said:

"I'm just getting back into it. My last game was on 1 January and it's a case of getting my fitness back up.

"Hopefully I can fit into the way Hibs play.

I'm a free agent, so I can move at any time. They are big on fitness at Hibs so I'm sure I could get as fit as I could here.

"We'll wait and see what the manager says. They go away to Marbella next week so I'll probably speak to him before he goes."

Smith signed for Dundee United on a short term deal in September from English side Swindon Town, but was released during last months transfer window.
