Galatasaray set to bid for Hibs defender Ryan Porteous

Last updated : 11 June 2021 By Steve Forbes

According to tonight's Scottish Sun, Turkish giants Galatasaray are set to make a move for Hibs defender Ryan Porteous.

The report suggests that Gala will make an offer of £1m with healthy add-ons for the Scotland squad player.

The Hibees knocked back a £1m offer from Millwall in January, and it's claimed the Turks offer will have much more in terms of add-ons in their offer.

Galatasaray are expected to bid in the next few days, and it could start a bidding war for the 22-year-old, with QPR and Bristol City having been linked with the player in the past.

Hibs are under no pressure to sell though, and it may take more to prize him from Easter Road, especially as he still has 2 years left on his contract.

EDITORS VIEW:

It would be a massive oppertunity for Ryan, with a big wage hike and Champions League football on offer.

However, £1m in our opinion is not enough.

Hibs finances are in excellent shape and it's most likely the club will be looking fo bidding to start at £2m, so that they can buy his replacement and bank some cash.
