Gary O'Connor called up to Scotland squad.

Scotland manager Walter Smith, today announced his squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Italy & Norway in September.

Only Gary O'Connor is in the squad from Hibs, with Derek Riordan being dropped from the squad, but somehow Steven Thompson of Rangers gets in!!!!!!

Gary Caldwell misses out through the injury he picked up against Hearts.

The squad is as follows......

Goalkeepers- Robert Douglas (Leicester), Craig Gordon (Hearts), David Marshall (Celtic) Defenders- Graham Alexander (Preston), Russell Anderson (Aberdeen), Steven Caldwell (Sunderland), Christian Dailly (West Ham), Jackie McNamara (Wolves), Steven Pressley (Hearts), Andy Webster (Hearts), David Weir (Everton)

Midfield- Barry Ferguson (Rangers), Darren Fletcher (Manchester United), Paul Hartley (Hearts), Neil McCann (Southampton), Lee McCulloch (Wigan), Ian Murray (Rangers), Brian O'Neil (Preston), Nigel Quashie (Southampton)

Forwards- Craig Beattie (Celtic), James McFadden (Everton), Kenny Miller (Wolves), Garry O'Connor (Hibernian), Steven Thompson (Rangers).

3 Hibs players have also made it into the U-21 squads for the games against the same countries u-21 sides. Steven Whittaker, Scott Brown and Kevin Thomson are the players to make it in.
