Good news on the injury front

Ian Murray and Garry O'Connor may be back in first team action quicker than first thought.

The Scotland internationals have suffered injuries in recent games, stand in skipper Murray missing the Rangers match with a knee injury, and GOC broke a bone in his right foot in the Ibrox clash, which of course we lost 2-1.

Murray however, is in contention for a starting slot in Saturday's match against Dundee, and while Garry's injury is for much longer, the 2 month period that was initially quoted is now thought be down to just after Christmas.

Talking about Ian's injury, boss Bobby Williamson said: "Ian hadn't trained all week prior to the Rangers game. Usually if a player can get himself back for a couple of days before a match then we'll make a decision, but Ian wasn't in the right physical shape to play in a game of that magnitude. I knew he was struggling and by the day before the game knew he'd be out. At Ibrox we decided to go with three up to see if we could trouble Rangers and if it didn't work in the first half we were certainly more effective in the second."

Some bad news is that Janos Matyus is going back to Hungary to try and clear up his achilles problem. Matyus was injured in the 2-1 win against Dundee United in October and BW said: "Janos is still struggling. It's a pity because he is a good, big player. He had a poor game against Dunfermline, but since then he hasn't looked back. He just can't shake this inury off. He's seen a few people about it and he'll be seeing a few more."
