Gretna back in for Hibs keeper Zibi Malkowski

Last updated : 13 June 2007 By Steve Forbes

Gretna have today re-confirmed their interest in Hibs keeper Zibi Malkowski.

The Polish keeper spent the latter half of last season on loan at the then first division club and picked up a winners medal in the process, when Gretna lifted the First Division Championship.

It was thought
Gretna had cooled any plans to sign Zibi, when it was revealed he had two years left on his contract, but Gretna caretaker manager, David Irons, has insisted that the SPL new boys are still interested.

Irons said:

"He still has two years left of his contract at Hibs but we have expressed an interest in him and have asked to be kept informed about his future."

Gretna make their move as it would free up wages for Hibs boss John Collins to add to his squad.
