Kevin Nicol has revealed he wants to extend his loan spell in Norway, rather than spend more time in the Hibs second string.

Nicol, 23 is on loan at Norwegian club Stromsgodset after having a nightmare of a time last season at the Hi-Bees, breaking his foot twice in quick succession.

Kevin thought he was for the chop, but Hibs manager Tony Mowbray offered him a six month extension to prove himself and a chance of improving his fitness by moving to Norway for the summer.

He is due to return at the end of July but the Norwegian premier league side want to keep him until November.

The on loan Hibee said “The loan is going well. I’ve played five games and my fitness is getting back to what it was before my injuries.

“The club want to keep me until November. I’d love to stay because I’m getting games and returning to Hibs in July would be a big ask.

“I’d likely be in the reserves because the boys will have been together from the start of the season”.
