Hibees give new loan deal to Richie Towell

Hibernian today confirmed that Richie Towell has rejoined the club for his second spell at Easter Road with a deal being done with Celtc to have Towell till June of next year.

Richie could well be the answer to our well conversed problem at right back what with Michael Hart copping a long term injury early in the season and recently we've had to play Palsson and laterly Wotherspoon in there but both are better suited to the midfield so for this Hibs fan it's a sign of relief that we've at last got someone in to play in the right back possition.

Towell had this to say to Hibernian interactive:

"I'm really happy to be heading back to Hibernian - I enjoyed every minute of my time at the club last season.

"I learned a huge amount during my last loan spell with Hibernian from playing regular first team football; it really helped me to develop as a player.

"As soon as I was made aware of the fact there may be the possibility of going back to Easter Road I jumped at it.

"Everyone at the club made me feel at home last time and I felt like a valued member of the team. I'm aiming to repay the manager's faith in me by making a big impact in the side and helping the team in the SPL.

"Anyone, who knows me will tell you that I have nothing but affection and admiration for the club and to wear the jersey again will be a real honour for me; I can't wait to get back playing again for Hibs."

Boss Calderwood is said to be delighted on getting Towell on board for his second loan spell at the club.

Welcome back to The First to wear the Green Richie
