RIP - Willie Finnigan

Sad news reached the Hibees-mad crew today in that Willie Finnigan who played for Hibs in the late 1930's / early Forties has passed away and is now in contention for a starting place in Heavens 11.

Willie Finnigan was a player signed for Hibs by 'Willie McCartney' in 1939 and he played alongside, amongst others the late great 'Gordon Smith' and 'Sir Mat Busby' for the Hibees.
He was also part of Hibs championship winning team of 1947 / 48

Willie was also in the team who beat Rankgers in the 'Summer Cup' of 1941 scoring two in a 3-2 Hibs win at Hampden, which included a 30 yarder and a short time later he was also in the team that humped the then dominant Rankgers team 8-1

Condolences to Willies Family and Friends from all at Hibs-mad

RIP
