Hibs 2007/08 season ticket sales hit 8,350!

Last updated : 05 June 2007 By Steve Forbes

Hibs have this afternoon revealed that season ticket sales for next season are on course to match last season's final total, despite the loss of Scott Brown to Celtic for £4.4m.

Hibs sold 10,500 season tickets for the start of last seasons SPL campaign and then went on to sell another 500 'half' season tickets, for the last part of the season.

The average gate at Easter Road last season reached 14,600 and it looks like Hibs can expect a packed Easter Road once again next season.

Season ticket sales have been running at about 400 a day over the last couple of weeks and Hibs expect that to continue, even though the renewal deadline has passed.

Hibs marketing director Ian Spence, talking to the Edinburgh Evening News, said:

"The launch was a month later than last year and yet we are virtually bang on that figure at the deadline for renewals which is very pleasing."

"We've already had a lot of calls from supporters asking when they can buy so we'd expect another rush when season tickets go on general sale next Monday."

"Given the uptake so far, I'd think reaching last year's total of 10,500 is definitely on. I can't see any indication that we won't get there."
