HIBS 2 EVERTON 2

Hibs fought out a 2-2 with Premiership side Everton at Easter Road tonight.

Everton had former Arsenal 'keeper Richard Wright making his debut, but most of the home supports attention was to ex jambo Davie Weir, who got it tight!!

Everton took the lead when superkid Wayne Rooney turned an Alexandersson corner in, but the lead lasted all of 6 minutes. Ex Celt Alan Stubbs got in trouble at the back, and gifted a chance to Garry O'Connor, who belted the ball past Wright.

Five minutes after the break Hibs took the lead. Freddy Arpinon slipped the ball to substitute Tam McManus, who comfortably fired the ball past Wright. 16 year old Rooney was subbed by Toffees boss Davie Moyes after having a go at McManus, an altercation in which nearly every player on the park got involved, and then, in the final minutes, Everton equalised.

Mathais Doubme handled the ball in the box, and David Unsworth stepped up to make 2-2. Thats how it ended.

All in all a good workout for Hibs, a good workout against a quality side. With de la Cruz already left and Laursen nearly away as well, some Hibs fans have been predicting a difficult season. It may well still be that, but tonight showed that we are more than just one of two players.
