Yogi and Hibs go seperate ways

Hibernian FC this morning released the breaking news that most Hibs fans have been baying for......the departure of manager John Hughes.

The search is now on to find the man to take over the helm at Easter Road after it seems the board have saw what the fans have been saying for weeks if not months now in that it's just not been good enough. The high point in Hughes's tenure was getting the Hibees into Europe last season which was a great achievement, even though we just scrapped through, but it's been all downhill since last Christmas with just the 4 wins in 29 matches.

The departure of Hughes from Hibs is said to be by mutual consent and is possibly the best move by both parties as the fans were increasingly losing the head at not just the results but the well below par performances that the team was producing.

We at Hibs mad would like to say thank you to Yogi for giving it a "Right Guid Go" but unfortunatly it wasn't good enough John, so good luck in pastures new.

Rumours of who should take over are doing the rounds and a couple of names that are prominent over all the others include Jimmy Calderwood to take over till the end of the season at least and another that says Ex-Hibs player Micheal O'neal currently doing a tremendous job at Shamrock Rovers has been approached.

Time will tell but I hope the board doesn't rush it and picks the right man for the job as we need stability at the club, something we haven't had for a few seasons now.
