Hibs confirm interest in Motherwell midfielder Brian Kerr!

Last updated : 18 April 2007 By Steve Forbes

Hibs this afternoon admitted that they had entered in to talks with Motherwell midfielder Brian Kerr.

Kerr, 25, is out of contract at the end of the season and it's thought he is now seeking to move from Motherwell after they agreed to sell star forward Scott McDonald to Celtic.

The ex Newcastle United,
Coventry City and Livingston midfielder is thought to be just days away from agreeing to join Hibs.

Kerr has been capped twice for
Scotland.

Both Hibs manager John Collins and Motherwell manager Maurice Malpas today confirmed that Kerr was talking to the Hi-Bees.

Motherwell boss Malpas said:

"Brian now has to make his mind up. I have spoken to him and his agent a lot and I know the score.

"We have gone in and made him our best offer and now Brian has to do what is best for him and his family.

"Brian has made it clear that if he does go it won't come down to a couple of hundred pounds, but if it is down to finances then he would have to be getting a significant increase."

It is though however, that Hibs may face competition from Swindon Town & Colchester United for the players signature.
