Hibs have been dealt a massive blow ahead of tomorrow's visit to Parkhead to face Celtic.

It has been revealed that Hibs Right back Steven Whittaker will miss the trip to Glasgow after suffering a groin strain in training with the Scotland B Squad ahead of there clash with Finland.

Hibs now face a defensive headache as Whittaker's injury adds to the fact that captain Rob Jones is suspended, meaning Hibs will have to go with a back four of McCann, Hogg, Martis & Murphy for the trip.

Hibs boss John Collins said:

"It's a huge test for young Kevin, they don't come any bigger. But he's proved he can do it, he's done ever so well and he will continue to do so.

"The secret for any player is consistency of performance. Obviously it isn't ideal to have two of our four defenders out but injuries and suspensions are part and parcel of football and we just have to deal with it.

"The boys who will come in will do their very best."
