Last updated : 29 January 2007 By Steve Forbes

Hibs this afternoon revealed that young keeper Andrew McNeil had put pen to paper on a new 2-year extension to his contract, that runs until the end of the season.

McNeil signed for Hibs this time last year on a free transfer from English Championship side Southampton.

The new Hibs number 1 told the OFFICIAL club website:

“I never had any doubts about remaining at Hibernian, I've enjoyed being at this club over the last year and I'm now looking forward to spending at least another couple of years here.

“I am very pleased with the way things have gone in the last month, and now I'm looking forward to retaining my place in the Hibernian first team, and hopefully I can be part of a successful side competing at the very top of the Scottish game.”
