Hibs linked with Dunfermline midfielder Gary Mason

Last updated : 12 June 2007 By Steve Forbes

Hibs have, this afternoon, been credited with an interest in Dunfermline midfielder Gary Mason.

According to reports on a local Edinburgh radio station's sports news, Hibs gaffer John Collins has been impressed with Mason since taking over the Easter Road hot seat and could be ready to pounce for the Edinburgh born player.

Mason started his career at English Premiership side
Manchester City, before he was sent out on loan the Hartlepool. He was then freed by Man City and moved north to Dunfermline. He has played over 200 games for the Pars but could have played his last for the club.

Dunfermline are looking to restructure the club after they were relegated from the SPL and it looks like Mason could be one of the first high earners out the door.

It is thought Hibs will face competition from
Kilmarnock for the players' signature.
