Hibs linked with French midfield enforcer Steven Pele!

Last updated : 09 June 2007 By Steve Forbes

According to the press this morning Hibs have been linked with Grenoble midfield general Steven Pele.

Pele, 25, is out of contract and Hibs boss John Collins has apparently started negotiations with the Frenchman about coming to Easter Road.

The powerhouse can play in a number of positions including defensive midfielder, central midfield and as a centre half.

He has also played for Rennes, Istres and Mans in the French leagues.

Another player apparently on John Collins radar is experienced French goalkeeper Vincent Fernandez.

Fernandez, 32, has a terrific pedigree in French football. He has has played for Paris St Germain,
Strasbourg, Sochaux and Chateauroux.

He has picked up winners medals in the French Cup and French League Cup, both with PSG. He has also won the French Second Division with Sochaux.

He also has European experience having played in the Cup Winners Cup with PSG in the 1996/97 season and Uefa Cup with
Chateauroux in 2004/05.

Hibs are on the look out for a new keeper and this guy certainly fits the bill, is he on John Collins shopping list?? It seems so.

The third player to be linked with a move to the Hibees is young French central defender Fabien Lavoyer.

Lavoyer, 22, is currently with French Second division side
Creteil after having previously been on the books of Sochaux and non league side Romorantin.

Hibs boss John Collins has already stated that he wants to bolster all areas of the park and Lavoyer could be on his way to Easter Road.

It remains to be seen if these players are wanted by Collins, It is however, clear that Hibs are casting the net far and wide in search of new players.
