Hibs linked with French midfielder Yohann Magnin

Hibs have been linked with a move for French midfielder Yohann Magnin.

According to a report from L’Équipe the Hibees are interested in the 28-year-old free agent after he left his club Clermont Foot this summer.

Hibs will apparently face competition for his signature from French, German and Spanish clubs for his signature.

The 6ft 1in defensive midfielder has spent his whole career with the French side, having broke through the academy of his hometown club and making his debut for Clermont B back in 2016, before moving upto the main side in 2018.

He played 200 games for the full side and over 60 times for the B side.

Hibs boss David Gray is looking to bolster his midfield after the Hibees had to admit defeat in their quest to re-sign midfielder Nectar Triantis from Sunderland, with the Aussie now attracting interest from both England and abroad.

Recent reports suggest that Derby County had an offer of £1.2m knocked back for the former Central Coast Mariners player.

HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW

Not a player we know much, if anything, of here at Hibs-Mad Towers.

The Hibees have a massive Triantis sized hole in the centre of their midfield, and will need to address it before the window closes at the end of the month.

Magnin has plenty of experience at a good level, but we are sure the recruitment department have their eye on more than one target.

This is one to keep an eye on in the coming days/weeks ahead.
