HIBEES AFTER IRISH WING KING??

Hibs are apparently in signing talks to bring Newcastle United and Republic of Ireland winger Alan O'Brien to Easter Road.

O'Brien, 22, is out of contract and was at Easter Road for signing talks yesterday over a possible move to the Hi-bees.

Hibs will have to pay compensation for O'Brien as he is under the age of 23 and they will have to offer him the highest deal possible to land him.

He is a regular member of the
Republic of Ireland squad and he was handed his first cap against Holland in Dublin last August. He has been capped five times in his career, his last coming in a friendly against Bolivia in America a few months back.

O'Brien has also represented
Ireland at U14, U15, U16 and U19 level. He also spent time on loan at Carlisle in 2005.

The winger is well known to Hibs assistant manager Tommy Craig having worked with him, while Craig was a coach at Newcastle United.

What an exciting signing this lad would be. Let's hope it's true.
