Hibs sign VFL Bochum defender Felix Passlack

Hibs have tonight confirmed the signing of German wing-back Felix Passlack.

The 27-year-old has signed from German side VFL Bochum in a reported £100,000 deal.

Passlack has signed a 3-and-a-half-year deal at Easter Road.

He can play anywhere on the right hand side and brings some much needed bolstering to the right of the Hibees defence.

Speaking to the official club website, Hibs boss David Gray said:

“We're delighted to bring a player of Felix's calibre and experience into the building.

"Felix is a tenacious, attack-minded player that can play anywhere on the right-hand side.

“He comes with a great pedigree – having played at a very high level – and will be a strong addition to the squad.”

Passlack has previously played for the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Hoffenheim, Norwich City and Dutch side Fortuna Sittard.

He has played in the Champions League, Bundesliga and Eredivisie, and has won the DBF Pokal (German Cup) with Dortmund.

Passlack has been capped from U16-U21 for Germany.

HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW

On paper this looks a very good signing for Hibs.

Passlack has played a lot of games at a high level, and the right side of defence has been a problem for a while.

Chris Cadden's form has dipped and young Kenayo Megwa is still finding his feet.

Could this lead to another loan for Megwa?
