Hibs striker Chris Killen on the verge of signing for Cardiff City!!

Last updated : 28 May 2007 By Steve Forbes

Hibs injury prone striker Chris Killen has revealed that he is on the verge of signing for Welsh outfit Cardiff City.

Killen, 25, has been out injured since January after snapping his Achilles tendon on Scottish Cup duty against
Aberdeen up at Pittodrie.

The
New Zealand international has been at Hibs for two years, but has spent more than a year of that time out, with different injuries.

Killen has scored 20 goals in 35 appearances in two seasons at the Hi-Bees.

The Hibs striker spoke to the Cardiff Echo and said:

"I have spoken to Cardiff City and hopefully everything will be sorted out this week,"

"I still have my medical to come, but we have agreed personal terms.

"I came to Cardiff a couple of months ago and met the manager, players and staff and I like what I heard.

"I saw the plans for the new stadium and training ground.

"There are exciting times down there and I want to be part of those ambitious plans.

"Everything has been agreed and hopefully I'll be a Cardiff player by the end of the week."

One comment that is sure to cause abit anger amongst the Hibs support is this:

"It was disappointing not to have joined Cardiff last January,"

"I only found out the day after my operation in January that Cardiff were interested in me.

"It was unfortunate to happen at that particular time. It was a freak accident."

Is that from the same guy who wanted a new contract at Hibs and stated "unfinished business"???

What would that be then??? Completing a whole season without injury????
