It has been reported in the press today that Hibs will appoint former Middlesbrough player, Mark Proctor, as the new first team coach at Easter Road before the transfer window shuts.

Proctor is currently the assistant manager at
Darlington, whom Hibs signed Shelton Martis from a couple of weeks back.

Proctor was also an ex team mate of Hibs manager Tony Mowbray, when they both played for
Middlesbrough in the 80's & 90's.

It is also thought Proctor will be coming to head up the exciting training academy that Hibs are currently in the process of building, which is due for completion at the start of the 2007/08 season.

Proctor said:

"I would love to be a manager somewhere someday and maybe I need to go to Hibs to take that next step towards being a manager. I was in youth football at Middlesbrough and did well there and I'd like to think Darlington have improved over the last two years too. If you look at the their end of season league finishes prior to me coming, I'm not exactly sure what they were exactly but they certainly didn't finish eighth two seasons in a row. I need to progress as a coach so going to Hibs is a new challenge to me. I want to be a manager one day but David is going nowhere because he is doing a good job with Darlington."
