Hibs youngster Jay Shields has signed a new 1 year deal with the club.
Shields, 21, looked to be on his way out of Easter Road after struggling to make an impact on the first team, He was loaned out to 3rd division side Berwick Rangers earlier in the season and was expected to be released at the end of the season.
However, due to Hibs horrendous injury list, Jay was giving his chance against Kilmarnock a month ago and made an instant impact.
He has kept his place in the last 5 games and has been solid, he also picked up the man of the match award against Hearts in the 2-1WIN.
