Sad news regarding the Hibees was revealed this morning.
Former Hibs Chairman and part-owner Rod Petrie has passed away after a long, brave, fight against Cancer.
Mr Petrie has passed away aged 69.
Rod joined the club in 1997 as former owner Sir Tom Farmer re-built after saving Hibs from receivership, and a Wallace Mercer takeover in 1990.
During his tenure, that ended in 2019 when Ron Gordon purchased the club from Sir Tom, Hibs won the 2007 League Cup, the 2016 Scottish Cup, redeveloped a run-down Easter Road and built the East Mains training facility.
Rod also had a tenure as SFA President when he left Hibs.
A fantastic legacy.
It's been a sad few years for the Hibs family, firstly when then owner, Ron Gordon, passed away, also due to Cancer in 2023.
This was followed with the death of Hibs saviour, and the man who sold the Gordon's the club, Sir Tom Farmer, in May of this year.
HIBS-MAD WOULD LIKE TO PASS OUR CONDOLENCES TO ROD'S FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
RIP "The Tache" and thank you.
