Shut yer puss, Tam!

Manager Bobby Williamson has blasted Tam McManus for his talking back to officials during the 2-0 win against Kilmarnock.

McManus had a go at linesman - sorry 'Assistant Referee' Irvine after he was penalised for offside. Tam had already been booked - for dissent - and could easily have got a red card for his rant, and the boss was not impressed by it.

Bobby said in the Evening News: "Tam may have felt hard done by, but he will
Tam McManus
Hands up who likes shouting at linesmen?!
have to learn that shouting won't change the course of the game or the officials' decision."

BW continued: "He has to learn quickly and I am sure he will. But if he finds himself out suspended he could find it takes a long, long time to get back into the side. Tam has to be more professional and learn to keep his mouth shut."

On the subject, the guilty party had this to say about the linesman: "I think it's fair to say we won't be sending each other Christmas cards. I thought I had kept the ball in, he gave it as out. I could have been sent off, I lost the rag having already been booked but the gaffer slaughtered me at half time."

Having played a major part in hauling us off the bottom of the league, a ban for something as silly as backchat would be a nightmare for McManus, and us. Keep up the good work Tam, but learn to bite your tongue - or learn swearie words in different languages from some of the other boys!
