Surprise front runner for vacant Hibs hot seat

Last updated : 06 June 2009 By Brian Hine

A new surprise front runner to replace Mixu Paatelainen in the hot seat at Hibernian has emerged today with top online bookmakers Victor Chandler slashing the odds on Ex Dundalk and Stockport County manager Jim Gannon from 17/1 to 5/4.
Hibs-mad has not heard anything solid about this rumour yet but the bookies are rarely wrong and there's no smoke without fire as they say.

40 year old Englishman James Paul "Jim" Gannon was released from his contract by cash straped County at the end of the season just passed and would be looking for a swift return to top flight management.

Gannon is favourite at 5/4 with Falkirk manager John (Yogi) Hughes and Unattached Jimmy (Tango) Calderwood hot on the heels at 7/4 and 6/1 but as the auld saying goes......time will tell

The same bookies also have Roberto Martinez at 6/4 as favourite for the vacant soapdodgers (Celtic) seat and Mark McGhee at 4/6 for the Sheepshaggers (Aberdeen) vacancy.
