Speculation surrounding transfer activity at Easter Road is rife, with rumours that Leeds United are set to table a £1M bid for Derek Riordan. Tony Mowbray was quick to play down these rumours. In an article in the Edinburgh Evening News, Mowbray said “I am sure Derek has no ambition at this moment to leave this club. There is no need for us to sell him and it would be rather foolish of us to offload him”.
Meanwhile, Mowbray has warned midfielder Craig Rocastle that he may have missed his chance to join Hibs. Rocastle played a starring role for the club in the earlier part of the season, but returned to Chelsea in the hope that he could resurrect his career at Stamford Bridge. However, he has since been freed by Chelsea and is reported to have rejected a contract offer from Sheffield Wednesday. It is understood that Rocastle has been in touch with the Hibs manager and a deal could be concluded on Wednesday.
