Ulises set for an Italian Job

Verona bound?
Well, it didn't take long to start and now, the first club has emerged to express an interest in Ulises de la Cruz.

Italian minnows Chievo were the surprise package of Serie A last year, keeping up with the leaders for most of the season, and in the end, clinching a UEFA Cup spot.

Chievo's sporting director Luigi Sartori said: "Ulises de la Cruz is a player we have watched closely"

DLC has been a bit of a disappointment in the eyes of many Hibs fans, and he always seems to keep his form for his country. We have been more than accommodating with him in relation to him jetting off every five minutes to play for Ecuador, but he still never really looked interested at Easter Road.

Some reporter ina Sunday newspaper said yesterday that Hibs had to change
Ready made replacement for DLC
to suit his style of play. Aye right then! We can't afford to have a player that doesn't chase back, likes to play when he wants. We need 11 workers in the side.

Chievo are said to be ready to test Hibs with a bid of around £1m, and if that happens, I reckon the offer will be quickly accepted. The projected fee of £750,000 that Alex McLeish paid Deportivo Universatario is thought to include his wages for the duration of his contract. That means if we sell him for £1m, three years before the end of his contract, we get a hefty profit. Also, we have Alen Orman who can play in that position, so it should be no great loss.
