What we've got is good enough

Hibs boss Bobby Williamson today spoke about the fact that we haven't signed any new players yet, while nearly every other SPL club has.

While this is a clear worry to Hibs fans, especially with all the transfer speculation surrounding Garry O'Connor and Ulises de la Cruz, BW believes what we already have could be good enough.

Even though Craig Brewster has already left for Dunfermline, and out-of-contract Mathais Jack still hasn't been offered a new deal, there is still no concrete news of anyone new playing for Hibs next season.

Bobby said: "I've already got a good enough squad to challenge for things in Scotland, we have good players at Hibs. Hopefully the fans won't get too downhearted and disappointed at the fact that we've not strengthened so far."

While I still hope that Bobby will manage to bring some new players in, it's worth remembering that this time last season we were very optimistic about the oming season, as we had a very strong squad. There have been few changes to that squad, and while some players don't play at Easter Road any more, we have added to the squad as well.

I also very much doubt that the board would have told BW when he took the job that there would be NO money at all for new players, so I still have hopes that we'll have some new faces come the first game of the season against Aberdeen.
