Hibs today announced that they will challenge captain Ian Murray’s red card from Saturday’s home game against Dundee Utd, if it stands it will put the Hibs player out of the same fixture in Saturday's Scottish Cup Semi Final at Hampden.

He was sent off for violent conduct, but TV pictures clearly show this was not the case, Hibs are to use Rangers player Nacho Novo’s case last year when his red card was scrubbed after a petulant kick at Hibs’ on loan Chelsea star Craig Rocastle, as an example when they go to Hampden to face the S.F.A.

The other player involved in the incident, Utd’s Mark Kerr, has said he will back the Hibs star at the hearing.

Hibs are likely to find out the outcome on Thursday.
