Hibs have this evening announced that they have parted ways with manager David Gray.
The Hibees legend has left the club after 12 years as a player, captain, coach and manager.
Gray had been under pressure for the last few months following an inconsistent end to last season, and the start of this one.
Recent results, including an Edinburgh derby collapse, and poor losses to St Johnstone and Kilmarnock has seen the axe fall on Sir Dave.
Goalkeeping coach Craig Samson and Assistant Liam Craig have also departed the club.
Speaking to the official club website, Hibs owner Ian Gordon said:
“Firstly, I would like to thank Dave for everything he has done for the Football Club, as a player, coach and, most recently Head Coach.
“Dave has been an inspirational figure at the Club during his time here, and he has been a true friend and fantastic colleague to so many at the Football Club.
“On behalf of my family, I would like to personally thank him for everything he has done for us since we joined the Club.
“As a person, he constantly set the standard with his attitude, professionalism and general work ethic, and he will be sorely missed around the building by all the players and staff at the Football Club.
“On the pitch, he has delivered some incredible moments for our fans and brought a level of stability and consistency that we haven’t reached in recent years.
“Ultimately, this is a decision that we have not taken lightly, but unfortunately, one as a Board we had to make due to the recent downturn of results and performances.
“We wish Dave, Liam Craig and Craig Samson all the best for the future and thank them for their commitment and effort during their time with the Club. They will always be welcome back to Easter Road.”

It's a sad day at Easter Road.
It's sad to see SDG go, but a fresh start was probably needed at the club.
Gray did a decent job as manager, he took over from Nick Montgomery, when the club was in an absolute rut.
He delivered back-to-back European qualifications, and started to win big games again, and up until recently he was on an upward trajectory, however, it seems he hit his glass ceiling at Easter Road.
Sir Dave will always be a club legend, from dragging us out the Championship as captain and player and to deliver the Scottish Cup as well cemented his legendary status..
