Hibs Women sign midfielder Joely Andrews

Hibs Women have announced their first signing of the summer.

Just a day after it was revealed that a number of important players had left Leith, Hibs boss Joelle Murray has moved quickly to land Hearts midfielder Joely Andrews.

The 24-year-old has crossed the city divide after winning the title in Gorgie last season.

Andrews is a winner, having won a ton of trophies in her homeland with Glentoran and will now be hoping to land more at Meadowbank.

Speaking to the official club website, the new signing said:

"I've been learning a lot of things about the Club just from signing and speaking to the staff. So, it's really good to be here.

"Playing against Hibs in the last two seasons, it's always been a really competitive game and I think it's a style that I can fit into here. Being in the city of Edinburgh as well, I love it here.

"You know, Joelle is a massive figure in Scottish women's football," Andrews added. "I think it'll be really good to learn from all her experiences. I'm really looking forward to it."

This looks a good pick-up from across the city.

Joelle Murray has a rebuild on her hands, this is the first piece.
