Hibs release midfielder Alasana Manneh

Hibs have today announced the departure of midfielder Alasana Manneh.

The 28-year-old Gambian international midfielder has agreed a mutual termination of his contract and left Easter Road with immediate effect.

Manneh has instantly found himself a new club, joining Danish 1st division side Kolding IF on a free transfer.

The former Barcelona academy player joined the Hibees from another Danish side, OB Odense, in January 2025, for a reported six-figure fee, on a three-and-a-half-year-deal, but only managed 9 appearances in the green and white.

Speaking to the official website, Hibs boss David Gray said:

“I would like to wish Alasana all the best for the future. He clearly hasn’t played as much football as he would’ve liked since joining the Club, so this deal was best for all parties involved - as it allows him to explore other opportunities elsewhere.

“Everyone at the Club wishes him the best of luck with the next steps in his playing career.”

HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW

This one is not a surprise.

Manneh's Hibs career never took off.

He arrived with a good pedigree, coming through the Barcelona academy, in a deal that cost the Hibees a reported £200,000 from former European foes OB Odense, but never held down a long term place in the team, with his best performance coming on the final day of the 24/25 season at home to Rangers.

Good luck to Alasana with his new club.
