Hibs have today confirmed their third signing of the 2026/27 summer transfer window.

The Hibees have signed Leyton Orient midfielder Azeem Abdulai for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.

Abdulai, 23, has signed a three-year-deal at Easter Road, and becomes David Gray;s third signing this window, following the captures of Jason Kerr from Wigan and Callum Wright from Plymouth Argyle.

Glasgow born Abdulai has been capped at U21 level by Scotland and was in Celtic's youth system before moving to Leicester City's academy.

Abdulai the signed for Swansea City, where he made over 30 appearances and scored 2 goals.

He then moved to Orient in January 2025 for an undisclosed fee, making 65 appearances, scoring 5 goals.

Speaking to the official club website, Hibs boss Gray said:

"Azeem is exactly the profile we wanted – he's athletic, aggressive, technically secure on the ball and will play box-to-box.

"We are delighted that he has been able to join the group here in Ireland at the end of the week so he can settle in with the squad and get up to speed as quickly as possible.

"He gives us more options in the midfield area and that creates a healthy competition for places. We are excited to have him on board, and we're all looking forward to working with him."

A move the Hibees have kept quiet, and one we didn't see coming.

Hibs needed to bolster the midfield after losing Dan Barlaser in the same position, following the end of his loan from Middlesbrough.

It seem they have filled the gap.
