AC Milan join the race for Hibs defender Josh Doig

Italian giants AC Milan have become the latest club linked with a move for Hibees wonderkid Josh Doig.

According to the Daily Mail, the Serie A side are tracking the 19-year-old as he comes to the end of an outstanding first season in the Hibs first team.

Watford apparently contacted the Hibees about a £4m deal for the left-back, but Hibs have told them they won't talk until after this Saturday's Scottish Cup Final against St Johnstone at Hampden.

Manchester City, Arsenal, Leeds United, Leicester City, Sunderland, Stoke City, Celtic and Bournemouth have all been linked with Doig in the past, and a bidding war could start in the summer.

Doig recentley signed a new deal at Easter Road, and it puts the Hibees in a strong position to get the best deal possible, if it gets to a position it becomes impossible to hold on to the talented kid.

What a move that would be for young Josh, to one of the world's best known and biggest club's.

Watford have apparently offered £2.5m up-front and another £1.5m in add-ons, which in our opinion at Hibs-Mad Towers is nowehere near enough, for a youngster who's got years ahead of him and plenty time to develop further.

It looks like Doig will have his pick of club's in the summer, the kid must be massively excited, let's hope he choses wisely and Hibs get a good deal.
