Adam Le Fondre leaves Hibs

Striker Adam Le Fondre was today the latest player to announce his departure from Easter Road.

The 37-year-old former Reading hitman joined the Hibees on a one-year-deal last summer, and the club had the option of extending it another year, but have chosen not to.

Le Fondre scored 5 goals in 29 games for the Hibees.

The Englisman left a goodbye message on Instagram for the Hibs supporters, but had a pop at an unknown individual as well.

He said:

."I'd like to thank Brian McDermott and Lee Johnson for bringing me to the club and Nick Montgomery for [his] continued trust in my ability. I had a blast north of the border.

"Disappointed with how the season panned out and how certain people treated me, but that's for another day.

"Special thanks to the fans for making me feel very welcome, it's truly a special club and I believe they are on the road to great things."

HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW

It's tough to see Adam go.

He scored a couple of  cracking goals in the green, and you could just tell by his movement and touch he had played at the highest level.

At 37 he isn't getting any younger, so we can see why Hibs moved him on, but maybe another year would have been worthwhile.

It's a pity to see he wasn't treated very well by people at the club, not a good look!

Good luck Adam from everyone at Hibs-Mad
