Hibs accept Forest Green Rovers bid for midfielder Jake Doyle-Hayes

It's being reported in the press this afternoon that Hibs have accepted a bid for forgotten midfielder Jake Doyle-Hayes.

English League One side Forest Green Rovers have tabled, and had accepted, a bid for the Irishman.

The 23-year-old hasn't played a game since October after picking up an injury and it now seems he has played his last game for the club.

Hibs boss Lee Johnson is keen to reduce and also bolster his squad, and needs to get bodies out the door.

Doyle-Hayes now has a decision to make about his future, does he stay at Easter Road as a bit-part player or head for the exit.

The former Aston Villa kid has played 53 games for the Hibees since signing from St Mirren in 2021.

His contract runs until the summer of 2025.

HIBS-MAD VIEW:

This one does not surprise us.

Doyle-Hayes has been largely dissapointing since his transfer from Paisley 18 months ago.

He has been out injured for a while, and fresh start might be good for everyone.

Hibs would pocket a fee and free up a decent wage in the budget.
