Hibs close in on signing of Man Utd defender Will Fish

It's being reported tonight that Hibs are closing in on the signing of Manchester United defender Will Fish.

The classy 20-year-old spent last season on loan at Easter Road, and after a rocky start became a major part of the Hibs defence.

Fish was used as back-up, and only made one appearance, until the Hibees sold Ryan Porteous to Watford in a £500,000 deal.

There was rumours that Fish would be re-called to Old Trafford, but he forced his way in to the side for the second half of the season and stayed there, making 21 appearances, and scoring 3 goals.

The only thing that isn't clear is what sort of deal it is, with early reports suggesting another loan deal was close , but now rumour has it a PERMANENT deal could be in the pipeline.

HIBS-MAD VIEW:

What a signing this would be!!

Will was outstanding for us last season, and getting him in this early in the window would be a great move by the club.

Add it to the capture of fellow loanee Elie Youan for 500k and it's been a superb start to the window.

Whats interesting is the shift in the rumour that it would be another loan deal, to it now circulating that a permanent deal could be close.

Whatever it is, let's hope we get it across the line!!
