Hibs defender Kyle McLelland joins Cove Rangers on loan

Last updated : 12 September 2022 By Steve Forbes

Hibs have today revealed that development defender Kyle McLelland has joined Cove Rangers.

The former Rangers youngster has joined the Championship side on loan until the end of the season, although the club has inserted a clause allwoing them to recall him should they wish in January.

The 20-year-old joined the Hibees in the summer from Rangers, and has mad 4 appearances for the club, but he will now continue his development away from Easter Road for te rest of the season.

Hibs have not mentioned if it's a development loan, allowing him to also play for the development side in the SPFL reserve league, or not, so we will have to wait and see if he does, or if it's a straight loan.

HIBS-MAD VIEW:

Makes sense, Kyle was signed as a development player, but was used a few times for the first team as the club played early season games.

He did well, but the Hibees obviously still see him as quite raw, and this loan will be massive for him.

Let's hope it works out for him

Good luck Kyle!
