Hibs are facing a player shortage crisis ahead of this Sunday's crucial SPL clash with Rangers at Easter Road.

Thierry Gatheussi and Colin Nish both picked up stupid red cards in Saturday's 2-1 loss to
Aberdeen and Guillaume Beuzelin was booked, handing all three suspensions for the Rangers game.

Chris Hogg, Brian Kerr, Kevin McCann and Alan O'Brien are all struggling with injury and could also miss out.

This could lead to a chance for out of favour players, with Clayton Donaldson, Ross Chisholm, Benji and Lewis Stevenson all looking to get back into the Hibees first team.

Moroccan midfielder Merouane Zemmama is out, after breaking his foot in training last week, ruling him out until next season.

Hibs boss Mixu Paatelainen said:

"Our medical department is working hard to try and get players back but their injuries are of a nature that unfortunately many probably won't make it.

"We will get 11 fit players on the pitch and we will fill the bench too but whether they are all fully fit or not I don't know.

"But I'm confident that the players who will be on the pitch will be good enough to go out and get us a result. "will, hopefully, take their chance."
