It’s been revealed that Hibs have handed a trial to former Bolton striker Ricardo Vaz Te.

The Portuguese forward is available under freedom of contract after negotiating his release from Greek side Panionios.

The 24-year-old was released by Owen Coyle in the summer, but his move to Greece has turned sour.

Vaz Te is currently training at the club’s £5m state-of-the-art training facility at East Mains, Tranent, and played in a closed door game against Kilmarnock yesterday.

Should the 6ft 3in striker impress, he would be eligible to sign a contract at Easter Road straight away, despite the transfer window being closed.

Vaz Te appeared 60 times for Premiership side Bolton, mostly as a substitute, and scored 3 goals for the club.

He also had a loan spell with Hull City, and has been capped 6 times at U21 level for Portugal.
