Hibs midfielder Jimmy Jeggo set to sign for Melbourne City

Last updated : 26 January 2024 By Steve Forbes

Hibs midfielder Jimmy Jeggo is the latest player heading for the Easter Road exit door.

The Aussie is said to be on his way back to his homeland with Melbourne City.

Jeggo, 31, has fallen down the pecking order at the club following the arrival of manager Nick Montgomery, and that was hammered home yesterday when the Hibees landed former Spurs and QPR man Luke Amos.

It seems Hibs have agreed to allow him out of his contract six months early, in order for him to return to Australia.

Jeggo signed for the Hibees from Belgian side Eupan this time last year and he has played 41 times since signing.

His departure will also free up more funds as the Hibees look to sign a central defender before the transfer window closes.

HIBS MAD VIEW

A move that's probably best for both parties.

Jeggo is out the picture and with Amos arriving, it makes it tougher for him.

Monty's clear out continues.
