Hibs have tonight turned down a third bid by Colchester United for captain Rob Jones.

According to reports the offer would have eventually netted the Hibees £500,000, but it has been dismissed by boss Mixu Paatelainen.

It's thought the deal was £300,000 up front, with a further £200,000 should Colchester gain promotion to the Championship from League One.

The U's, who currently sit 11th in League One, have already had two bids turned down for Hibs captain Jones, as Paatelainen looks to keep the stopper at Easter Road during the January transfer window.

Paltry bids of both £100,000 and £200,000 have already been booted in to touch by Paatelainen and it seems, barring a stupid money offer, Jones will see out his remaining 18 months in Edinburgh.
